I've seen numerous posts and have been a victim of this problem; until now. I have the latest Triton PII drivers. I have tried every suggestion in the news groups. Nothing worked. If I have a music cd in my 4x Atapi CD-ROM, my pentium 133 will NOT boot. It hangs before it gets to the boot manager screen. Any other kind of CD, as long as track 1 does not contain music, will boot. I just flashed my bios to the latest (just released) bios for my machine and LO & BEHOLD! It boots INSTANTLY with any kind of CD! So, if you continue to experience the boot up problems, it may well be your bios. If this is old news, please disregard the post and let it die! :-) Gaylen Fraley \\||// Team OS/2 ( .. ) -----------------------------------oOO--()--OOo-------------------------------- John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course, it could be two different and >unrelated problems too -- who knows. Well, if you're seeing a symptom where the system hangs for a while, and then starts up again.... AND the pointer still moves around the screen in response to mouse movement... You're probably seeing the "single input queue" problem. I write PM code, and can reproduce this problem at will, (and sometimes not at will ! :-> ). It's simple. write some code that takes an event off the input queue and does some loooooong processing before letting the input queue know that the program took the event off. There are work-arounds in fix-pack 17, and a fix promised (or so I hear....) for Merlin. I'm going to take a look at Merlin next Tue, (as will many other people...) so maybe we'll know more then.... -BOBm
