[This is the final call for signatures. Here's your chance to do something
about it! Please forward this announcement far and wide on the Internet --
mail it to your friends.]

Hello,

Signatures are now being gathered for a Petition which will be sent to UUNet
protesting the almost unbelievable net.abuses emanating from the UUNet-fed
site anatolia.org, run by a Mr. Ahmet Cosar, better known as Serdar Argic.

This Petition is NOT to censor him or his message about the so-called genocide
of Turks by Armenians. This Petition is to ask UUNet to require Mr. Cosar's
site to no longer allow the following abusive actions (and which most sites
now forbid), or risk losing service:

- Cancelling others posts without their permission.

- Sending large volumes of unsolicited e-mail to others (mailbombing).

- Forging e-mail and posts, making them appear to come from another user.

- Massive "robo-posting", which is an automated posting of huge amounts of
text over and over again to a large number of Usenet newsgroups.

- Robo-posts to newsgroups that are completely unrelated to the content of
the messages, an example being several fraternity/sorority newsgroups!

- Multiple site names (over 30 so far) render "kill" files useless.

- The users at Mr. Cosar's site do not have valid e-mail addresses.

- The "Followup-to:" line on many posts has been set to "test" and other
inappropriate newsgroups, causing problems for many.

- Unneighborliness and downright hostility towards those who oppose him.
There have been physical threats, racial slurs and the like.

- The rampant misuse of copyrighted material, posted without permission of
  the copyright owner.

If you feel strongly about these abuses, then get the full text of the
Petition and read it carefully. If you agree with the demands set forth in
it, then please do sign it. You can get a copy of the Petition from:

1) Many newsgroups where it was posted Friday, May 6, such as news.admin.misc
   and news.admin.policy, or

2) Via anonymous ftp from ftp.netcom.com /pub/noring/petition.txt

3) Via e-mail to ftp-request@netcom.com. In the body of the message put only:
   SEND noring/petition.txt

4) If the above three don't work, send e-mail to me (noring@netcom.com) and
I'll forward a copy to you.

To "sign" the petition you must send e-mail to 'voting@qualcomm.com' and not
to me. Here are the specific instructions:

Important Signing notes:

3) For your signature to be valid, you _must_ "sign" the "My signature:" line
with your real and full name.
4) E-MAIL this signature block to voting@qualcomm.com, the neutral 3rd party
collector, and not to anyone else.

YES I would like my name/e-mail address to be added to this Petition.

Thanks for your interest! There IS something you can do, and it's simple!
