Does anyone know where I can get some data on the formants of vowels of various languages. I've scanned through about ten books and they usually have info on the first two formants for English vowels. I need more, at least, including the third formant. Can anyone direct me published sources ? What would be even more interesting would be the formants that are used in speech synthesizers. I have some data from a book on speech synthesis but it does not agree very well with formants derived from experiments of humans producing speech. If anyone knows how I can get the formants used in any commercial or experimental speech synthesizers, it would be very helpful. Thanks very much. -- mark hubey@pilot.njin.net hubey@apollo.montclair.edu ...!rutgers!pilot!hubey hubey@logos.montclair.edu
