I am sorry, my previous posting was missing some important info. Here is what it should have said: I am looking for an inexpensive portable sound level meter. Bandwidth: 20Hz -- 16KHz Dynamic response: 40dB -- 120dB Any leads are appreciated. Please, reply via e-mail to zavriyev@nrcphy.phy.nrc.ca Thank you. Anton Zavriyev

I think you are OK with the RadioShack unit 20 Hz to 20 K, But Shy on the low SPL end. Well, its lowest scale is 60 dB, and that figure puts the needle at 2/3 scale. It has an AC out jack (1/8" plug), so that you can feed its output to ANY indicating device, and I'm sure its noise level is suitably low to make your 40 dB OK. The next level up is QUEST. I see from their 1989 price sheet they have a model 208L for $165.00 They are in Oconomowoc, WI @ 414-567-9157 // FAX = 414-567-4047
