Hi, there is a little question about geography I am thinking about. A friend of mine is interested in a trip to the (geographic) north pole. The travel agency offering this adventure sais that they would go to the north pole by ship. My simple question is: Is that possible ? My old <<Asimovs New Guide to Science>> states that the thickness of the arctic ice is up to 1600 m - a little too strong for an icebreaking ship. Who knows ? Personal e-mails a very welcome. Michael.
