My only question is - would the additional mass (+ hence additional
gravitaional force to drive the fusion process) be enough? I remember
hearing an analogy : Take 200 marbles. Now take one out - that is
Jupiter. Take 1 more out - that is the mass of all other orbiting bodies
in the solar system. The rest represent the mass of the sun.
(Is this accurate enough)?
I suppose my real question is - what is the minimum mass required to
maintain an ongoing steller fusion reaction?
