Suspected Sexual Predator
A group home counselor from Murray is under arrest in Louisville, charged

with having sex with an 11-year-old girl he met in an Internet chat room.

23-year-old Moussa Dieye is charged with rape.

Captain Richard Dotson says a search of Dieye's home computer turned

up contacts in Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee.

Dotson says this is an example of why parents need to closely monitor

their children's use of the Internet.

Dotson says investigators are seeing if Dieye may have had inappropriate

contact with any of the children at the group home in Murray.

Question for the newsgroup. If the suspect had used a product like

http://www.acronis.com and cleaned his drive before the drive to

Lousiville his computer would be clean or would it still be dirty? As far

as internet chat is concerned I believe he could have secured that with

some difficulity but it could have been secured with some efford and a

little expense on his part. Chat is closely being watched by law
enforcement

from what I have been told. The alleged activity in the parking lot with

the "condom disgarded" will be his undoing using dna analysis but that

is beyond computer security and privacy that I only concern myself here

in this newsgroup.

Randy

PS It would be nice to get some pgp encrypted email using remailers guys!

Randy - I personally do not know if the site you mention if the product does
what it says. I have not seen yet a comparitive scientific analysis of the
competing products, of which there are several. There seems to be two major
categories of these things those that wipe the drive securely and those that
wipe out details/trails, logs, files etc etc... such as evidence eliminator.
(I was going to consider evidence eliminator, but their website is so
histronic it is very hard to see them as credible and not hype).

There is also I believe the known fact that whatever products we might use,
the goverment has much more advanced and sophisticated tools for undoing our
efforts. This is "classified" and not permitted into the public. So they
supposedly have a significant advantage over anything we might try to do to
erase things. That too could just be some orwellean hype - but ---

To All,

I bought the program in Best Buy as I won a company drawing for
a gift card at work and it was "use it or lose it". I like the program
and I feel safe with it if the law ever comes knocking or banging/

addendum:

The previous post was intended as a simple suggestion for over paranoid
people. In no way was it to be intended as aide for people that are engaged
in child pornography or any other currently illegal and illicit activities.

I posted the previous message as per the rights provided for in the us
constitution, specifically the freedom of speech.

I advise all people who have made similar post to addend them, as anyone
giving aide in any way to child pornographers is guilty of a crime, even
through idle chat in a open forum such as this newsgroup.
