Approximately how much time should be taken up in random string typing during key generation? I compiled ripem on a Sun and spent over 7 minutes typing randomly without ever being asked for a password. I finally gave up and tried using the -R efs option. Did I do something wrong? --- memco@wotan.cns.nyu.edu

Key generation takes less than a minute on a Sun (depending on the model). Don't forget to enter a carriage return at the end of the random string. RIPEM doesn't start computing until you type the CR. Mark R.
