Draw via e-mail ?

I'd like to know the best options to send a Draw 8 work (complex flier
with one photo), via e-mail as an attachment. (I have Win 95).

Also, what is the best format to deliver the same work to a "Kinkos"
service (full color print flier).

I'll appreciate any advice/ experiences regarding this matter.

Thanks, in advance.

You need to know if recipient has your software (CorelDraw 8). If so zip up
the file with something like Winzip from www.winzip.com and attach the
zipped file to a message to recipient.

If recipient has different software you both need to determine what file
format is common to you.

Thanks Herbert,

But the work I like to send is 8 MB, I think rather large even if Zipped.
The file is in Draw 7 format, as this is the only Corel format "Kinkos"
can handle at this moment.

Thanks again,

Edmund.

You might go ahead and try zipping it -- I have one 83 Mb Photoshop
file that sips to 355K (!) -- but that's mainly a single-color
background on a large bitmap.

Alternatively, if it's more than roughly 800K zipped (a file size that
expands to about 1 Mb when encoded for e-mail -- that's the cutoff
point for many email service providers these days -- perhaps you could
break the file up. For example, send it page by page.

And even more alternatively, you might save output as a TIFF type
(Kinko's probably won't be manipulating the individual objects on your
layout, so the whole thing as a frozen bitmap might be OK). TIFF
sometimes is larger than Corel files, but often responds to Zip-ing
with even more compessability. Save at 150 dpi if it's for Kinko
color copy production, or 300 dpi if for 4-color press work.

You can also Zip across multiple diskettes (spanning disks, to use Zip
terminology) and just drive or Fedex them to Kinkos.

Use pre-formatted diskettes. Easiest way is to open Explorer to the
file you want to put on multiple diskettes, then open Winzip, drag the
file to the Winzip window and set up your new file via the WinZip Drag
dialog. Once you select A: (or your floppy drive), and fill in a Ziip
file name, you'll see a dialog that includes a drop-down box for
spanning, and it should say automatic. Then just feed a new diskette
with each screen prompt.

Our Kinkos like most has variably skilled personnel, so label your
diskettes with your name, phone, file name, and diskette number of
total diskettes (1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc.), along with a sheet with any
instructions.

Thanks Dave !

I'll try that.
