Yes, there is some meat below, but I have included most of the earlier stuff for your reference. In article <507ftd$dgv@info.usuhs.mil>, I. The "About WordPerfect" menu >selection in our Help says "Program Release: 11/4/94." > Was there something else you needed to do beyond what it says in >the README file that comes with it? I have no idea what FAST SAVE is or does differently. I have used it successfully to exchange docs with Word 6. When you do a "Save As", in the list of types, is MS Word 6.0 listed, or only MS Word 2 (in 4 flavors)? Also when you try to open a word 6 file, is word 6 in that list of types? If either or both is NO, its not installed properly. Part of the install instructions have you put "ScanForConverters=1" under the [WPCORP] section of the WIN.INI. The next time you start WP, it will see this, find the filter in the \WPC20 Shared code directory, and update the BIF to point to it. Its my guess that on a network, it would need to be in the network's shared code directory, and the info for it would be in the network BIF. To do this, it would have to be done by a user with write access to the network files, and perhaps not having a local BIF. Perhaps you need to copy the WPCSET.BIF to your local drive, install the filter, and move the system BIF back to the network.
