30 seconds.. 11.19.96 icraiga.com is at http://members.aol.com/ICraigA/home.html 30 seconds of thought comin about wal-mart.. lately there has been news and comment about wal-mart demanding that record and video companies censor and edit sound recordings and videos in order to be sold in their stores.. first.. there is nothing in the constitution that says that wal-mart cannot do this.. there is no ammendment that says any citizen of the united states is not allowed to be an asshole.. especially when that citizen is putting his or her hard earned capital at risk by running a business, and employing people.. there is no legislation that says that another person cannot open a store next door to wal-mart and sell everything and more that wal-mart does not choose to sell.. using common sense.. it is easy to see that wal-mart is losing by its own censorship.. as everyone loses who attempts to censor.. free speech is not only the most logical choice.. it is also the most profitable.. may every record or tape that wal-mart censors.. sell twice as many copies as it would have anyway.. screw you all you censors.. 30 seconds.. is at http://members.aol.com/ICraigA/thirty.html

Well, I agree that censors make me very nervous, but the recording
that started all this was Sheryl (sp?) Crow's CD that had a line in one
song that stated Wal-Mart was selling guns to children.
That is a blatant lie. Period. If Wal-Mart (or any other FFL) was
caught at such a criminal action, they would suffer (as they should!).
But they don't. And to say they do isn't freedom of speech or artistic
intpretation, but slander. I have driven from my home town to the
nearest Wal-Mart 25 miles away just to purchase ammo, and have told the
clerk exactly why I'm there; if they are willing to not carry a product
that slanders them with regards to firearms, I'll buy from them!
This Politically Correct filth has gone much too far. The idea
that a "politically incorrect" situation can be lied about on any
media (CD, tapes, newspapers, TV, etc.) and it's okay is just plain
pathetic. Such attitudes of lying and being deceitful are showing
our children what is acceptable behavior. No wonder they are so confused
and angry.
IMHO,
toemoss

icraiga.com is at http://members.aol.com/ICraigA/home.html i appreciate your point tom.. but the wal-mart thing has gone on longer than the release of the last sheryl crow album.. as a kid i remember wal-mart with the old sam walton at the helm.. and tipper gore leading the charge from the left.. ozzy ozbourne was being blamed for teenage suicide.. ronald reagan was president and people didn't look at you like you were crazy if you came up with the idea of slapping warning labels on an artists work.. the first and second ammendment are the first and second ammendments for a reason.. the second is neccesary to defend the first.. wal-mart was rather vocal about their opinions then too.. one more point i would like to make in response to your post sir.. you mentioned that you drove 25 miles to buy ammo from a wal-mart.. i imagine that you live in a more rural area than i do.. i live in new jersey.. the only thing in the world i can't find in a ten mile radius of my home is a wal-mart.. competition thrives.. no matter how much traffic i sit in to get to it.. but as long as that competition exists.. not one merchant anywhere would dare impose their own values upon their customers.. they need every one.. screw wal-mart.. take a second to find and support a small independent business person in your neighborhood.. 30 seconds is at http://members.aol.com/ICraigA/thirty.html
