Yep, thing is, when people connect to these problems, they can sometimes

It is way way too much for some people to handle assuming they know about it
and thats not likely in many cities without internet access and surely our
news media keeps it from them . The fact is not only is the discrepency
between the rich and poor keep widening, but so is the differences between
people who have clean air and those that don't. and the seemingly
differences between reporters having free leadway to report the truth. and
those that keep the truth from the public. We are what we believe and often
see on tv and  I have to assume allot of people just hide their head in the
sand not even caring if we are really free or unduly influenced by
controlled press.

Yes, Steve, these are things that clearly make you anxious and upset.  I am 
sorry that i was mean to you - however I am a person who likes to say the 
truth - do with it as you will.  Two wrongs do not make right, and me 
ripping your face off does not undo your bad behavior - I realize this.

The question is this:  I've been reading your angst for some time now; if 
anything it is escalating - is that serving YOU well?  (rhetorical 
question - of course it isn't).

Some of us DO have brains, and mine tells me that you need some help to 
handle the (obviously very difficult to handle) stresses that an urban 
environment presents for you.  You need it Steve.  Lets compare pollution (a 
Steve favorite) to neurosis/obsession.  Both are unwanted, lack utility, 
cause harm, and with effort can be eliminated, or at least reduced.  It is 
the ultimate hypocrisy for you to not eliminate your own internal 
"pollution" while railing against things that are clearly outside most 
people's (if not actually everyone's) sphere of influence (smokestack 
pollution for example)...

I found fault, and should have continued to press for remedy, and again, I'm 
sorry.  Honest moment here though:  if you say something like you said to 
Elliott again, I will do the same thing - malevolence doesn't sit well with 
me (including my own, hence this paragraph).

The industrial world is going to spin round and round, the only question is 
what kind of life you (YOU) will have, while ambulating upon it (and i'm not 
talking about your respiratory health either).  The very computer you use is 
a product of the industrial world - it is a part of our lives, and we must 
learn to cope with it; we MUST.  And yes, I use Flonase for nasal allergies 
too - but it's better than sneezing all day.  Find a comfortable posture 
with the world and all it's bad and good - life is short.  Call your local 
talk radio station, and tell the whole city about these pollution topics, 
during their open talk show hour - most big cities have one or more. 
Sometimes exchanging ideas and thoughts with locals can be an immediate 
anxiety reducer, because you don't feel so alone.  Below is a link that may

I am always good for a little rowdy behavior . I never said I was perfect or
didn't have extreme anxiety in the past. . We all have reacted in the past.
The point is to keep trying to get better  and confront issues if its a
concern. I do it thru the groups which by the way doesn't negate my
concerns.

I dont know Gary, is bad air if you were to have to breathe it serving you
well? Does things that make no sense make other things in your life more
practical and easily understood?   For instance the number of women abused?
The growing discrepency between the rich and poor and the studies that have
said, millions of people are living in unhealthy conditions. ?
I think to be healthy you have to be able to decipher the information and
either ignore it or accept it and still ignore it and or confront it till it
makes sense. In my realm in a true democracy thats the most one can hope for
.. rational answers, not censureship or lame name calling . .

Its outside most peoples sphere of influence because A, most people are not
told of this poisoning and b, most people would rather look away ,
especailly if its not happening to them. or its too overwhelming. The point
is progress happens first by understanding and then complaining and taking
action by influencing others. I think anxiety like anything in life has to
be challenged or confronted in honest way. I am not sure the US is about
honest approaches to real complex questions. I think its about control until
proven otherwise. As far as me being happy. Gary , truly I am as happy as I
can be under the circumstances. You want to know how bad I had it? Like you
and most people here except ( whats his name?LOL) have a past with anxiety.
I am very use to the situations and people who have this condition.. I have
not been hospitalized for two decades and not dependent on Psychiatrists
with their bag of tricks or lies to maximize insurance . I honestly believe
if peoples main gripe is their inability to relax there are much healthier
alternatives. Comparing what people think or believe in here is extremely
difficult Gary. We are a nation that acts out in some way or another. I do
the right things but whats the point if others don't or don't know how to
help themselves?  or a govt or press in denial ? We are all connected .

Gary I realize your a people person , extremely conscious of being accepted
or not in groups. Me I can take it or leave it. everyone wants to be
accepted but you can never please all the people all the time and even some
of the people some of the time lol ...Trust me when I tell I have found love
and I am extremely happy to have someone accept me . I think I accept myself
lots more then even so called healthier people who don't complain. Finally
for some reason I think I replace newsgroups with therapists and meds. I
find when I go over issues i am much more able to understand then if I keep
it to myself. I think this stems from loss of self early on taking care of
sick parent. Its not a win or losing situation as Its a tool to get in touch
with my self.

Of course thats the obvious Gary. I cant  justify how people rationalize but
all changes positive or negative usually takes  place with enlightenment. I
remember when I first started all this Bush never ever mentioned
environmentally friendly and air charts were never even an option! Now the
epa is being sued by states and there are a distinct groups of people who
are living much healthier lives then others because they understand the
implications of quality of air. You would be totally surprised how change
takes place.!!! lol

Gary I find talking on uesnet pretty helpful. It would be nice to have a few
days away from this place so I can relax more but even when I am at the
shore the same concerns are or will be with me. Sue me because I want a
better world. I know this flies in the face of people who have done well to
own the top one percents of our resources and you defending that position by
worrying about my concerns being too extreme  will not help your asthma or
problems either in my honest opinion Gary.

of course it is but there are many people that would have you rather not
think about reality. To some people its better to id themselves  with others
in a group with same symptoms but not find out why . There are two  groups
that don't want to know the truth: those in denial  and don't want to think
about the possibility of how change might affect them and , those in control
who want status quo.  . I just want the options in front of me. I wish I had
better options when I was younger and wish and hope I add to the hope of
others who might see how the truth will set them free. Coming from a
dysfuncitonal family does not make one bound to dysfunctional existence.
