to use any sound or video card you wanted , i suppose they would have made one

Also the Siamese system that's been available for a while now can do this to some extent... What is really crazy is that I am a PC tech, trained by the RAF, now contracted to various companies. I suppose that is what makes me use an Amiga. For what my Amiga1200 setup now stands me at I could have produced a mega PC. I think that it would be great if it was possible to intergrate such items as soundcards, graphics adapters etc, but from my understanding, the cost or developement costs to produce an adapter for this purpose would be rediculously expensive.........subsequently, forget it. At the end of the day, I believe the Amiga to be a much superior operating system compared to the PC. It's such ashame that Commodore f***ed it all up in the 80's, bad management, terrible marketing, and the 80's themselves reallylabeled the Amiga as a games machine..........end of story. Subsequently, as people got older, the 80's generation moved to what was marketed as a PURE business machine.the PC. Serious marketing, strong platform, licensing (open forum), but mainly, the money was there to develope the PC market rapidly from its already strong foundations. As i have said many times, to friends etc...., I like the way the Amiga works, performs, ease of use, user freindly and so on. I have no need for a 6.2 gig HDD or stupid ammounts of ram for DTP. What I have stands my at a tidy sum, but at least I have more than enough in performance. My main concern is the the way some Amiga parties are striving towards a system which will end up as an IBM PC if we don't watch it (that's my own personal understanding of the PPC). I could rattle on all night, it's late, I've completely drifted off from the original text, basically I'm off to bed. I'll probably spam myself just for being so boring and waffling:-) Cheers all Daz.

The new BoXeR from Index will have active ISA slots, enabling the use
of PC graphics cards etc.
Followups set to dta as this has nothing to do with Thor or IP
support.
