I want to backup my HD using ZIP disks and BRU. I changed the Tool type to
the device name of the Zip, IDH1:. But the requester keeps saying " Insert
volume 1", even tho' there is a disk already in the drive. I even renamed
the disk volume 1 - still the same results. Any suggestions? Bona-fide e
mail replies are not discouraged.

I spent a long time trying to get BRU to work properly with ZIPs, and
I've come to the conclusion that it can't be done :(

I'm currently beta torturing^H^H^Htesting ABackup (by Denis Gounelle),
which I am informed is due for public release this weekend.

It works fine with ZIPs, and is generally very powerful and
comfortable to use.

It's about time we had an actively developed and supported backup
system that works properly with removeable media.

I had the same experience with my SyQuest EZFlyer drive.

I would suggest that you ditch HDBackup/BRU in favor of Diavolo Pro or
Quarterback.
