I'd like to chime in here if I may.
1. I have a Macintosh Color Classic I use almost every day; it holds my
recipes and has a clock screensaver. I am about to retire it still in
operational condition. IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN JANUARY 1994. BTW, I also have
a working Mac Plus, and an SE, both even older.
2. At my workplace, we cycle PC computers out after three years. Not so
Macs; we still have several B&W G3s which are going on 6 years old now.
3. The beige PowerMacs we disposed of still worked; I just donated four G3s
to a school in New Mexico. These are going on 7 years old now.
4. I can't give away PCs as old as the either of the G3s above; no one will
take them!
