Make requests if you choose. There's heaps of stuff, and a whole tribe of enthusiasts (more than in this local group) You might try using Opera_PPC, as a browser. It was the last one I used (on my old PPC). I would remove old software, yes, to avoid getting clogged up. But NOT until you've made a copy of it (and any extras that go with it). Prefereable make a copy of the entire disk (or at least a copy of all its contents). Most apps come in their own folder, self-contained, but some will have bits in the System Folder - EXTENSIONS, and almost all will have a file in PREFERENCES. Only rarely there will be a CONTROL PANEL, though Control Panels can have Preference file. Some apps have an INSTALLER (often via a SMI) but others will just be copied into the Applications Folder. Don't assume the most recent app is the best. And don't be shy to ask for advice in a.b.m.a.retro. More specific questions may help, and what processor does that iMac use, and how much RAM is there? OS 8.6 is not that old, and I still have it on one PPC I use for Debian. If you have enough RAM (and it's easy to get) you might consider running OS 9.1. Have Fun. Nikki
