Netscape 7.02 runs so slow due to constantly swapping to hard disk cache that it's virtually unusable (though it does render the web pages correctly, which is what we wanted). Apparently the system has 32mb of ram and a 6GB hard drive. She's wanting to add more RAM, so now I must figure out how to do this on an imac as well as which type of RAM it takes. I increased a disk cache setting from the default of 64mb to 128mb and it improved performance somewhat when running netscape 7.02, but not nearly enough to make the program usable. Cheers, Ari -- spammage trappage: replace fishies_ with yahoo I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. To jump to the end of the story, as a result of this I need a bone marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow transplant, too.
