Hi all;

I just got a QuickTake 150, I put some (just bought) Everready super
heavy duty batteries in it. After opening and closing the lens cover,
the battery indicator finally showed full charge and I took some test
pics.

I then tried the connection to my mac (powerbook 1400) but when I
opened the lens cover, the lcd was blank. After disconnecting and
trying to check the number of pics in the camera, the battery
indiactor showed empty again.

No I do not have a vot meter etc...

I do have a Powerbook 1400 power brick, can this be used?

It has an output of 24v = 1.87A, output power 45W Max.

I also have a power brick for a scanner, it says its output is +15v =
1.25A

 Or are these tooo high.....?

While the QuickTake 150 manual says

external power 4.5 V DC/1.75 A to 8.0 V DC/1.0 A
and the QuickTake has on the back Rated 7.5v = 2.0A

I have the 150 also, and I would suggest not using those adaptors. I believe
I had found a multivoltage adaptor at home and set it for 4.5 Volts and it
worked fine. I do not have the camera in front of me right now, but it
probably has a positive/negativ sign to show which pin should be connected to
the positive and which one to the negative line from the power adaptor.

Imran

A lot of QuickTake taken pictures (and then sharpened in Photoshop) are at

You must use AA Lithium batteries. The camera uses so much current that
normal batteries, including Alkalines, won't work for any useful period of
time.

The power supply for any PowerBook 1xx (i.e. 100, 140, 150, 180) can be
used with the QuickTakes.

         Matthew.
