Hard Disk Crashed! HELP ME!

I have 2 internal hard disks in my Macintosh Quadra 610. Macintosh
HD and La Cie 1250-Q. La Cie 1250-Q was my startup disk. When I
booted up several days ago, it booted off of Macintosh HD instead
of La Cie 1250-Q and it said something like "This disk is
unreadable. Would you like to initialize it? Eject Initialize." I
hit Eject and tried to fix La Cie 1250-Q with everything that I
have; Disk First Aid 7.2.2, Norton Utilities 3.2.3, and MacTools
Pro 4.0.3. I also analyzed it with Tech Tool Pro 1.0.1. Nothing
can fix it, but Norton Unerase found all of my files.

La Cie 1250-Q is a 1.2 GB hard disk with only 18 MB free. The only
way that I know of to fix my hard disk is to unerase all of my
files to another disk with 1.2 GB free, format La Cie 1250-Q, and
copy the files back again. I can't afford another 1.2 GB hard
disk. Please help me! Are there any programs that I haven't tried?
Are there any companies that rent hard disks? What can I do to
ensure that this does not happen again?

I am using Silverlining 5.6.4 as the driver on La Cie 1250-Q
because that is what came with the hard disk. I also have an
external hard disk named Joule 410-Q that I booted off of for the
Norton Utilities check.

Here are some error reports:

OK- here is what needs to be done - hook up another drive (beg or borrow)
of the same size or larger. Second use a format utility to see if you can
write a new driver to the damaged disk long enough to mount the drive to
recover things intact (do not initialize just update the driver) if that
can't be done use Norton to recover the files. Third, reformat the drive
making sure the formatter is set to map out bad blocks (most do this
automatically). Fourth, reinstallall system software and applications from
original disks just to be sure. Pull data file from recovered data on
borrowed disk. Boot form the restored disk and set all control panels and
application memory partitions. Fifth, boot from other drive, run Norton
Disk Doctor and Spped Disk. Rebuild desktop with TechTool. Lastly, boot
from recovered disk, trash stuff from borrowed drive, and all should be
well with the world.

You have discovered about the most serious problem you can get so if you
recover from this nothing else will ever phase you. Let me kow if there is
any additional info I can provide, I do this stuff for a living and it is
not the first time I've been through this drill.

Later,
Rick

I think it is a tuff problem but not the most difficult. What if the
formatter does not recognize the drive? How does one write a new driver,
then? Use Silverlining Lite if you have it and set the prefs to install
driver upon restart. Pick your scsi id and reboot. Do this after
installing 'Lite.' Lite is a cdev.
