Some of the current crop of malware will cause that to happen. I would 
have thought that the regedit change would take care of it though.

Do you have either (or both) Ad-Aware or Spybot? Both are great FREE 
software for removing spyware and other "malware" stuff that not only 
"phones home" but causes windows to crash more frequently that "normal."

If you don't have them, do a google search on the above names and 
include the word "spyware."
