I'd experienced difficulty with my XPS-P90, 233 processor, and 16 mb Creative Banshee Blaster video card locking up. Typically, the machine would lock up once or twice a day, forcing a reset. Often the problem occurred playing Quake 2. Some had suggested it might be a heat issue with my Creative video card. I tried underclocking the card, and the problem persisted. I figured it was just an unsolvable Windows 98 problem, and left it at that. Well, about 11 days ago, I replaced my Microsoft mouse with a Logitech wheelmouse. The Microsoft was old, and getting a bit sticky. Guess what? Problem solved. I've had only one lock-up since I installed the Logitech (and I know what caused that one), and not one single lock-up while playing Quake 2. I've even overclocked the Banshee to 110 Mhz Core and Memory. Weird. But I thought you all could add it to your database of machine "lock up" causes. Jim
