Help - Sound Blaster Live Value and Windows 98 SE

I am trying to install the driver in Windows 98 SE and I am having problems.
I downloaded the latest drivers from both Creative and Dell. Neither of
them work at all. I keep getting asked for a Creative CD which I don't have
when I use the driver from Creative. When I use the Dell driver. It
installs but I get no sound at all.

I have a Dell Dimension 8100 that originally came with Windows ME with a P4
1.7 and I dual boot between Win 98 SE and XP Pro. The card works fine with
XP but I can't get to work with Windows 98 SE. Everything else works
perfect in Windows 98 SE.

Any help would greatly be appreciatted.

Thanks

James

Make sure you install the Intel chipset drivers before you load any other
drivers.
Win 98 doesn't have drivers for the 850 chipset.

My kids older games don't work very well on XP. The newer ones are fine.
The older games that sometimes use DOS and I also have a Ditto Max tape back
up that doesn't run in XP. I still like to use it for back ups.

Thanks for the tips on the Intel set.
