What kind of SIMMs for Gosling MB?

I have a 486DX2 Gosling MB that came from Zeos with 4 4MB SIMMS for total of
16MB installed memory. I am thinking of replacing this with 2 16MB SIMMS for a
total of 32MB memory. However, I am totally confused as to exactly the type of
SIMMs to get. They seem to be available in all sorts of variations, i.e. 32
bit, 36 bit, true parity, no parity, logical parity, etc. So would someone
please tell me *exactly* what is is I need? Also, if anybody has a
recommendation of manufactures to avoid, or to look for, I would appreciate it.
As I run OS/2 Warp exclusively on this machine, good quality RAM is more
important to me than saving a couple of bucks on an inferior product.

TIA

Jeffery,

Your Gosling requires parity memory, which is 36-bit. 32-bit memory is
non-parity. So 16MB SIMMS would be 4 x 36. Whether true parity or logic parity
should not make a difference, except that true parity (my preference) would
report a parity error if one were found, whereas logic parity can never find
such an error. I was told by ZEOS that the board supports any combination of
SIMMS, and have personally run with the following combinations (2 x 1), (2 x 1
+ 2 x 4), (3 x 4), and currently (2 x 16). It is not necessary to install
them in pairs, either, since the Gosling is a 486 motherboard. You may want to
keep two of the 4MB SIMMS, to total 40MB, unless you are fortunate enough to
get a reasonable price for them.

Regards,
Stephen
