CTX 15" monitor troubles...

I have had my zeos dx2/50 for about six months now. I put up
with a slight jitter from the monitor, intermittent, for quite a
while, as I tried to troubleshoot through the problems. Finally,
replacing the monitor was suggested.

I now have the new monitor (and am more than a little annoyed at
having to pay shipping on the monster when I send it back). Joy of
Joys, it too has problems. It's a 'Low Radiation' model, and it
seems that there are differences between what I had and what they
sent me.

Minor ones:
Like, instead of having an intermittent jitter,
it has an intermittent high pitched whine. It seems to be sensitive
to position or motion: if I jostle the monitor, or hold it still, it
will stop for a while [but then again, it whines a seemingly random
intervals anyway]

Has anyone else run into this problem, or does anyone have advice?
I'm starting to really dislike CTX monitors: even if I *did* happen
to get two lemons in a row, I'm now biased.

Time to call/e-mail tech support again. :( I don't have many
problems with the computer, but the monitor jitter was hard on the
eyes, and the whine is hard on the ears.

Thanks,

I had a problem with a ZEOS monitor wherein the side of the display seemed
"warped" and would jiggle. I found that a "high-intensity" desk lamp that
I had put next to the monitor was the problem. You might check for some
"other" source of magnetic flux near the monitor. My TV has a high-pitched
whine also that I have never been able to make "go away." Good luck.

I always thought that the high-pitched whine from TVs was because of the
tripler in there jacking up the voltage to drive the picture tube.

For whatever it's worth, I've had a CTX monitor attached to my 486DX-33
system and running for at least 75% of the time now for over 6 months
without a problem. Now the NCR video card, on the other hand, is really* a
piece of trash.

But overall, I highly enjoy the system. I just wish there was some way to
control/disable the built-in serial, parallel, and IDE ports on my Goose
motherboard, but I'm getting the impression that that's a lost cause.
