Does anyone know anything about the OMTI 5000 series of SCSI - hosted disk
controllers, which I believe are used in the PERQ 3A (amongst other machines)

I've come across 2 main versions - the 5200, which supports floppies (5.25" and
possibly 8") and ST506 hard disks, and the 5300, which supports the same
hard disks and QIC02 tape drives. The PCBs and custom chips seem to be the
same between the 2 versions, although the ROMs are different, and different
support chips are fitted

I have a few questions :

Is it possible to get/make one which supports the hard disk, floppy disk and
tape? The PCB could handle it, but I suspect the ROM would need major hacking.

Does the 5200 support 8" (or high density 5.25") drives, and if so, how do you
select this mode?

Does anyone know anything about the custom chips (5050 sequencer, 5060 buffer
controller, 5070 Encoder/Decoder) ? I can always hope

Does anyone have any documentation (Techref ???) I can always dream, I guess...
