It might be a bit old/slow though ;) Amos PS: I was actually wondering what it's worth, I thought of getting it to play with it :)

| I'd say it was worth 2 bits of second-user chewing gum.
We are still using one as a UseNet News server (not a
full feed of course) - it's extremely reliable :)

With NetBSD 1.5 I've used an SS1+ as a 1.5Mbit ADSL gateway, proxy cache, DNS, Apache/MySQL/PHP/AppleShare/NFS server - all in 6MB resident. Same machine is now my 56kbps dialup gateway, still running all those services. Has never missed a beat. An SS1 was my employer's email and web proxy until about 18 months ago. If your brand-new *nt*l box goes down for even 1 hour (unthinkable, eh!) then the SS1+ has paid for itself several times over. :)) Besides, they're great to learn on. You can totally put aside niggling driver issues and h/w flakiness that comes with sh*tboxes these days, and concentrate on learning UNIX administration (I began with SunOS 4 on SPARC.) If you don't have to pay for shipping. Seriously, the $$$ value is probably zero. Usage value, if it's something you're willing to work with, may be quite high though. It's one of those old tanks that will do a lot and keep on doing. .. unless the nvram dies. Then it needs some attention. This article was written on the very machine. Or at least on the type4 of a SS1+. The actual vi was running elsewhere =) -- I'm broken. Please show this to someone who can fix can fix -- A message in a TeX system

According to its admin, it hasn't missed a beat yet. -- for a in sdf.lonestar.org;do devnull@$a;done Finger devnull@sdf.lonestar.org for PGP public key.

Only time it's ever missed a beat is when its PSU fan finally packed it in and needed some downtime to replace it (didn't think hot-swapping a PSU fan was wise ;).
