I'm trying to get the onboard ethernet port working on an Enterprise 3000
running SunOS 5.6. OpenBoot is finding the device but it's not listed when
you do an ifconfig -a.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Dale

By onboard ethernet I take it you mean the ethernet port on the first
I/O board?

A device will not show in ifconfig -a if it is not configured.
Have you configured it through /etc/hosts and /etc/hostname.hme0?

What happens if you manually configure the port?

    ifconfig hme0 plump
    ifconfig hme0 192.9.200.1 up

Have you reconfigured the system?

    touch /reconfigure - then reboot

Mike
