I am the postmaster at UNM, I am well aware of the posting made by one of our
users to your newsgroup and would like to request that you the readers of this
group please refrain from mailing to the postmaster at any unm.edu machine as
this is beginning to cause undue harship upon me and several other members of
the staff here at UNM.

Thnks you

Whether or not they deal with it is not a matter that can be
accomplished by "mail bombing", and you can go to *jail* if it distrupts
the operation of their system and if you are involved in doing so or
encouraging it.

If you feel the postmaster has not done what he/she is supposed to do,
you can write to the site administrator, and if that does not work, talk
to the head of the computer center in that university. But mailbombing
the user or postmaster is criminal. If none of the legal ways above
works, you can look into other legal ways of proving your legal point,
if there is one.

I would expect a comment regarding the investigation into the guilty
party before requesting people not to complain about the possibly
illegal activites of a user on unm.

I construe acknowledgement of its existence as evidence that they are
investigating it, until proved otherwise. In this case, that has
proved to be correct. The person who did it has been dealt with.
