I have some opinion regarding movie viewing in local (Hong Kong) TV
channels.  I used to enjoy these movies very much but not so when I am
more seriously about Home Theater.  The problems is the large number
or advertisement involved in each film.  For those good films, they
normally highlighted it as a "movie of the month"  As a result, a
movie started at 9:30pm will finish at 11:45pm  the earliest and
sometime it goes all the way to 12:30am with Late News in between.  I
try to combat the problem by record the show to VCR but I am still
very annoyed even when the FFwd functions is available. I really don't
enjoy watch these great movies (especially fot those action packed
movies) with interrupt at every 10 to 15 minutes. =20

In fact the LD rental cost in Hong Kong is very low and I think the
extra cost is well worthwhile.  I am paying HK$880 (~US$113) for 100
movies and I get better picture, better sound, earlier release date
and no commercial in betweeen.  Besides, I can record the blockbusters
onto VCR and the result is always better than recording from TV
signals.
