Yo,

I've recently re-installed windows 98, and now I can't change my screen
resolution and colors. I have an Intel 740 VGA card, but the settings are
stuck on 16 colors and 640x480 resolution. I've tried everything. I have the
latest drivers installed. I've consulted Microsoft support on the internet,
but the solutions they offer don't work either. Can anyone give me some
advice?

check the monitor settings, if it is set as
Standard VGA Monitor then 16 colours
at 640x480 is all you can get

choose a Standard SVGA Monitor at 1024x768
then you will get higher resolution

if you can, get the driver for the monitor from
the manufacturer
