I have an interesting problem. I have Windows 98 and I am unable to
shutdown the system through start>shutdown>... I am also unable to logoff
to a different user. Can anybody point me in the right direction as to how
to fix this problem. Maybe how this process is configured, anything?
Thanks

Patrick: I can't speak to the logoff problem; but I run W98SE & long ago
I downloaded a shutdown supplement from Microsoft's update page which
solved the same problem.

Are you the only user of the PC? If not, are you the responsable
administrator? If not, contact him. I think he has placed system
policies on the pc, which limit the pc-user-possibilities. If you are
the system administrator (or you are the only user), do you have this
problem since the beginning or since you have altered something (if so,
what)? If you aren't the only user, contact the admin or other users and
ask them if they have the same problems.
