First of all, because a newsgroup may have some illegal material in
it does not justify its being censored. I know what illegal material
you are referring to and I have found such material in groups catering
to those interested in legal adult pornography. Does that make those
groups illegal, too??
Second, I hope Chris does fight any attempted federal
strong-arming, and I hope he fights all the way to the Supreme Court.
And when it's over the supporters of free sppech will be laughing at the
elite who would just love to be able to control everything we do, say
and read. As long as Chris continues to hold fast against the tyrants
in New York and Washington I will continue to be an Altopia customer.
And lastly, you are right. This is only the beginning. But the
outcome may not be what the censors are hoping for.
