Dear Usenet,

We of alt.horror.werewolves apologize for the crosspostings accidentally
caused by inappropriate headers being left on messages as they're posted.

On the other proverbial paw, we'd appreciate it if everyone would just let
this thread die. The recent spam epidemic has driven us to distraction,
even losing us some members just because some of you out there (and you know
who you are) decided it would be fun to put off-topic articles into our
group and spread several dozen of our articles through other groups (one of
mine included).

Why is this in altnet's group? Simple. You see, a lot of the more
persistent spammers were funneling their posts through alt.net, while the
management, for some obscure reason, decided that having abusive posts full
of profanity being spread all over Usenet by their server was all right with
them. Despite numerous complaints, they seem to have decided that that
portion of their Articles of Use agreement which specifically prohibits
excessive off-topic posting to Usenet (copy of AoU available at the Altopia
Homepage) no longer exists.

So please, let this thread die. Judging by the level of flamage on it
lately, I'd say we're all sick and tired of it, yes?

Yours truly,

The peace-offering,
