Yes, it far exceeded 20.  For *months*.  It's well documented in DejaNews.
The BI on the word "fuckhead" alone probably exceeded one thousand.

This is, of course, only the tip of the iceberg.  Some of the references
are more obvious than others.  To say there weren't numerous spam problems
