I have a Samsung 48 speed CD rom drive in my A4000, this runs quite happily and is recognised ok by IDE fix's find device, (is set as slave) BUT on the 1200 it's a NO GO, only 8 speed drives or less are recognised, any ideas as to why and what the problem is and what I can do to fix it. Hi Doug, I stll have an Amiga1200 although I have not used it for some time. I used an 24x CD-rom on it and it worked fine. I did have more ram and more speed. Just to let you know that you can use a CD rim drive with more than 8x on your A1200, but you may need the necessary ram and speed for it. Hope this helps a bit.
