I've used Re-Org before now.... It works really well. I think you can get it off Aminet (or off an Amiga Format CD). There should be an update for it on Aminet too for version 3.1 -> 3.11 The reason most people think that you can't re-org an Amiga is that it is hardly ever needed. It has a very well organised filesystem. I needed to do it once in 5 years and that was on the partition where I download and un-archive lots of stuff so files are continuously being added/deleted. A browser cache partition would also be a good candidate. It only works on OFS/FFS partitions, not on alternative filesystems like PFS. I'm not sure if it was bad cables on my part, but when I tried to re-org a cartridge in my external SCSI Syquest EZ230 flyer drive, it buggered up the cartridge, but my cables do have a little too much sellotape on them!!! ;-) It is also good for speeding up WB access to the drives as it can reorganise the disk so that all the icon files are in the first blocks so that windows open up faster. If you are not a big WB user, you can set it to put files or directories first too so that file access is slightly faster... Over-all a good program and I'd recommend it without a pause... try http://ftp.uni-paderborn.de/aminet/ for Aminet in ReOrg3_1.lha disk/optim 326K 100 Disk optimizer with DC-FFS support ReOrg3_11pch.lha disk/optim 19K 100 Patch from ReOrg 3.1 to ReOrg 3.11 Matt "Mr. A.
