And there will be a weekend retreat at CALOOLA FARM (past Tuggeranong - Top
Naas via Tharwa) commencing on Friday evening 21 September 2001 through to
Sunday 23 September 2001. So pencil that into your diaries - as the site
has already been booked and this gives plenty of time to plan ahead. Costs
will be affordable for all. This should be the highlight of the year's
program, by then your meditation would have progressed nicely.

Program includes:

Hatha Yoga (physical postures)
Mantra (subtle sound vibrations used for meditation)
Bhava (ideation and mental focus used in meditation)
Sadhana (meditation and the spiritual practices of Yoga)
Bhakti (inculcation of the feeling of love, devotion and surrender in
meditation practices)
Karma Yoga (action for welfare)
Jnana Yoga (spiritual knowledge and wisdom)
Yama and Niyama (moral and ethical outlook and approach)

All these are essential tools to meditation and an elevating lifestyle.

So come and enjoy the company - and some singing (also an essential tool in
expanding the mind's vision and elevation and removing limitations).

Primarily the focus will be on meditation, but to achieve good meditation
there are many tools and simple hints that can be followed in your lifestyle
to greatly enhance the meditation practice. Meditation is considered
everyone's right so the fee only covers costs.

Radio 2XX broadcast an interview with Dada and Didi a week or so ago. It
was with Dada Sarvabhodananda and Didi Ananda Shamita, who took the last one
day meditaton workshop. Both have travelled extensively around the world
for the last 25 and 15 years respectively teaching meditation free of charge
as a yogic monk and nun dedicated to uplifting the human consciousness
through yogic and meditation practices and ethics.

I am attempting to make this into an MP3 file for distribution and playing
on personal computers. More soon.

You unlock the real potential of meditation and yoga when you adopt it.
This means living yoga; practicing meditation every day. It means applying
the wisdom to everyday day life and to live a sentient lifestyle, that is,
with awareness of the inner meaning of meditation. All aspects of life are
affected: how you should eat, how you should sleep, ideation at work,
relationship with others and so on. Conscious and skilful living doesn't
mean you need to be a superstar to practice such a lifestyle. All you need
is sincerity and application of some discipline. Make any adjustments in a
systematic way and view changes as positive.

Effort in life is essential to spiritual discipline and one's concern with a
healthy, wholesome, functional, and spiritual environment.

Now, the question may arise: is not the effort of meditation a mental
occupation? No, it is not, for a mental occupation is concerned with the
doer I or ego, with the effort to attain for that ego. But the effort of
meditation (divine contemplation) is the effort to dedicate the small ego to
the great Ego, so we cannot call it an ordinary desire. Meditation is not a
mental propensity, it is the fullest expression of Divine desire or love
itself.
