Following a recent posting to this newsgroup, I have more information
regarding the error message being displayed on my colleagues PC -

The error first occurred following upgrading to the latest version of
AOL - his PC is using Win 95)

He is now failing to access AOL, his browser (either Microsoft IE 3 or
Netscape) will not allow him to go on line, with the following error
message being displayed -:

"Wsock32 WSO0001: error locking data or code segment"

The associated files on his system are :-

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM - WSOCK32.DLL
                        WSOCK32.MST
                        WSOCK32n.DLL
                        WSOCK.VXD

C:\WINDOWS WINSOCK.DLL
                        WINSOCK.OLD

Anyone any ideas why the browser will not allow internet access?
