According to this detailed survey, almost half of AOL's members are
either seriously considering or "definitely" leaving AOL. (Things like
the horrible AOL newsreader are surely one reason)

Quotes from the news story include:

>"AOL members who said they were most likely to leave represented some of
>the most demographically desirable users of the service -- young family
>members with multiple incomes," said Tom Miller, Vice President of the
>Emerging Technologies Research Group at FIND/SVP and publisher of InterActive
>Consumers.
[....]
>we also found a higher
>ratio of 'pass along usage', meaning individual AOL members who share
>accounts. This phenomenon is clearly more widespread than previously
>reported," stated Mr. Miller. "By our estimates, AOL has 30% more users of
>the service than there are members, or a total of 10.6 million people using
>AOL's 8 million memberships."

Isn't sharing an account (other than members of the same household) a
violation of AOL's terms of service?

>16% of all current and adult Internet users are former AOL users
