There is an apparent problem with AOL version 4.0 that causes the
program to "hang" when loading. The AOL splash screen shows "starting AOL"
and the application stops responding. This happened on my personal version
of AOL 4.0 as well as a copy of AOL 4.0 for Windows 3.1.
AOL technical support reports the cure is to rename the file GLOBAL.ORG
to GLOBAL.BAK in the AOL 4.0 directory. This worked on my copy.
