Hi everyone ! After having sailed on water for 2 decades i now want to try sailing on land for a change. I'm very fortunat that a local sailingschool bought some sort of russian catamarans a few years back since the boats of these cats were inflatable and the beach at the school consists of sharp little stones. So i now have a lot of aluminium and the sails of 4 catamarans at home, there's probably enough material to build 2-3 landsailors. Before designing and building i'd like to know more about how to calculate strength of materials, the different forces on the "boat" while sailing etc. etc.. Can anyone here help me with more info/URLs etc. ? Preferably info that doesn't require a masters degree in mathmatics, but if you should find info like that, please send as well, i'll annoy my brother with it. After all, he's very eager to sail on land as well ;-) Best wishes, muchos gracias in advance, Bart Derks, Middelburg, the Netherlands. --- remove "tokeepitnice" from my emailadress to send personal mail.. ---
