Advice, suggestions, ftp sites, etc requested to help with the following
projects:

I've got three ancient Wang 386 boxes (386-DX-16, Wang 512K VGA card,
40MB IDE disk, and neat 32-bit memory cards which can take up to 16 1MB
30 pin SIMMS each...two machines have 4MB, 1 has 8MB installed)

[ BTW, while I'm thinking about it, does anyone know if Wang makes ]
 [ 486 motherboards which can use these memory cards...the 386 boxes ]
[ are OK considering that they cost me bugger all, but the memory ]
[ cards are excellent value...especially considering the fact that ]
[ 2nd hand 30 pin simms are going to get cheaper and cheaper over the ]
[ next year or so as people dump them for 72 pin machines :-) ]

I've also got a bunch of cheap WD8003 ethernet cards and coax cable I
picked up at a swap meet.

One machine has already been setup as a linux box, and works quite
nicely. I've installed my ancient 8 port stallion card in this and it
functions as both an extra console for my 486 box (via a hacked agetty
which runs "rlogin muffin" instead of "login") and a serial port server.

My plans for the other two are to 1) setup a DOS based machine (for
games, word processing, and other stuff which it's more convenient
to do under DOS) and 2) experiment with building myself a low-budget
slow-as-a-dog X terminal..

I'll setup the DOS box first...that'll be simplest.

I've got an ancient copy of the clarkson/crynwyr packet drivers for
dos. I think I have an ancient NCSA telnet on a disk somewhere. I'd
like to get the latest versions of these (and other simple DOS network
software...nothing fancy, nothing for windows, just plain dos character
stuff). Anyone know where's the best ftp site to get this sort of
stuff?

I'll setup the X term box later...depending on how difficult it is,
I might even write up the project as a mini-HOWTO. If it's hard to
configure, then it's worth the effort to spread the knowledge of how to
do it :-)
