Katie Rich Elected as Innu Nation President
-------------------------------------------

Katie Rich, the former chief of Utshimassit (Davis Inlet) was elected as
the new president of the Innu Nation. A new Board of Directors representing
the two communities was also elected.

Rich plans to remain in Utshimassit, and direct the operations of the Innu
Nation from the offices in that community.

"First thing we have to do is to get together", stated Rich.

Peter Penashue, the outgoing President, has taken a position with the
Sheshatshiu Band Council under its new chief, Paul Rich.
