Hi Charles!  Anyway, earthquake insurance gives peace of mind to the
homeowner who doesn't want to take the (very small) risk that their
home is destroyed leaving them out tons of money (the construction
value of their house).

For me, the premium for earthquake is an additional $233/year.  Since
I couldn't afford 100-150K to construct a new house and $233/year is
small relative to other things (e.g. 1/7th my auto insurance), I'm
probably going to go with it.

If you're renting and are only concerned about your belongings, don't
get earthquake.
