Have you ever had the following experience: You come back at your office from a few days off or a few days of meetings/training outside your office. As you open your e-mail application it welcomes you with tens or even hundreds of e-mail messages. Some of these e-mails are really relevant to your work. Some of these e-mails are nice to know about. Some of these e-mails however relevant at the time sent are already outdated or answered by others (if you're lucky this answer is in your inbox as well) To scan your e-mail and read the most important ones and react to them will take a few hours and your backlog will take days to disappear because of your normal work is also waiting for you. Sometimes you get the idea that your e-mail application rules over you, instead of you being the boss over your application and (more important) over how to spend your time. If you know solutions to this problem (except from throwing them all away), please respond. I want to set up a kind of protocol for my company on how to use e-mail in a effecient way (that is no junk-mail, no unnecessary copiy-holders, relevant subjest descriptions, etcetera). I also want to get some tips (and pass them on to my colleagues) about how to handle these loads of e-mails. Thanks, Eddy.
