Word of God

The Holy Bible is God's own word (John 10:35), His great gift to all men
everywhere, to help us out of our sin and misery and darkness (Psalms
119:11). The Bible is not an ordinary book but the men who wrote it were
inspired and moved by God's Holy Spirit to write exactly the truth as God
gave it to them (II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:20-21). Every word is true,
filled with God's own power and authority.

We should read our Bible as if it was God Himself speaking to us directly
and personally. It will impart to us light, understanding (Psalms 119:105),
spiritual food (Matthew 4:4, I Peter 2:2) and physical health (Proverbs
4:20-22). It will cleanse us (John 15:3, Ephesians 5:26), sanctify us (John
17:17), build us up and make us partakers of God's own nature (Acts 20:32).
It will give us power and wisdom to overcome the devil (Ephesians 6:17,
Hebrews 4:12)
