One of my cats has taken to sitting on top of my 5620 terminal while it is running. I think she likes the warm air blowing out of the ducts on top of the terminal. Question: will the cat block the vents enough to damage the terminal, or will enough air sift through her fur to allow reasonable cooling? If it helps, the fan in the terminal does not change speed between cat on and cat off.

I think you will find that your cat gets much better cooling if she stands over the vents, rather than lies on them. The former postion permits much more of her surface area to be exposed to the air flow. (Sorry I couldn't resist this one) Paul Glick btlunix!pg
