VC5 + TASM

Has anybody out there used VC5 & TASM combination before ? I'm doing this
and has encountered a linking error. Stating that externs (which were
declared in my .asm) cannot be found.
The .model (I used .model small) flagged a warning. Similarly, .text and
.data flagged warning too.
Pls. help.
(Is it because of TASM's ideal mode ? If so, how do I turn it off?)
