Hi all....
I am new to the newsgroup thing but thought that I would give it a
crack....
anyway's tthe problem is such.
I am reading in data from a text file into my structs...... then the program
does all its crap..... then I re-write the modified data back to file .....
the file should never change in the quantity of records read or written.....
ok the program does this ( or seems to at first)
SCENERIO:
I read records from file read_records ..... a total of 32 records were
read...... I did all the crap ..... I wrote records to file
wote_file........ I visually compared files (no noticeable difference).....
I did a character count on both files ...... exactly the same ..... I double
checked format ..... EXACTLY the same ..... O.K. so whats the prob you ask?
Logically , if I read in the file wrote_file ...... which is in the same
format ....... I should get 32 records again ..... but no I get 33, the
strange thing here is that when I now re-examine the file wrote_file .....
that is after I have tried reading it...... there is now an extra record at
the top of file...... as if it appeared there when I tried to read the
file...... the extra data is in format but it consist of all (0's)
obviously.
I am hoping that by shear luck that someone out there who reads this letter
has maybe tread the same path .
If you are that person PLEASE PLEASE help me .... and as everone else seems
to do THANKS IN ADVANCE if you can
