To my knowledge (did in my day) c++ compilers can read c but not the other way round. you could therefore provide c source to the group but if the group provide c++ answers it will not work for you. Try a c newsgroup? If you understand this then c++ is object oriented (like visual basic classes, java classes) and allows methods and properties. It also allows inheritance. If you do not understand this please dont bother asking it is far too difficult to explain (but look in the java course section in my website below, it explains inheritance in a inheritance.htm file) cliff -- If you like this why not go to http://www.chulcoop.btinternet.co.uk "OrionD" <tinko@pdq.net> wrote in message news:180E5865768CAFA4.1C11D043AD4C2B3F.F8E2B43801E0ADE7@lp.airnews.net... > ok here is a brand new newbie so as soon as I figure out how ta get this > puppy installed you will have yer hands full with all my lame questions > ...lol I am using c is there any significant difference between c and c++ > that will prevent us from sharing source ?? > >
